The Family YMCA of Northwest Illinois’ Bluefin Swim Team is offering kids of the Freeport, Illinois area an opportunity to participate in an excellent swimming program that is designed to offer children, between the ages of 5 and 18, a free two-week trial period where anyone that can swim one (1) length of the pool can participate with the Bluefin’s program without any commitment.

By following the rules and regulations of YMCA Swimming and the United States Swimming (USS), we will provide swimmers with quality competitive and non-competitive opportunities that: a. promote character development based on caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility; b. create an atmosphere for positive self-esteem and self image for ourselves and team members; and, c. through state-of-the-art stroke technique and training concepts, promote physical fitness.

The Bluefin Swim Team offers opportunities for a wide range of athletes. The team has levels for swimmers learning to swim the basic competitive fundamentals through levels that offer specific training for state and national level swimmers.

Anyone can stop in and participate. All a swimmer needs is a suit, pair of goggles and the desire to be part of something above and beyond.
